Mini Bio

Bill Belus, CMSGT, USAF

After graduating from MJHS I worked at Florida Filters, Pelican Harbor Yacht Club, 79th Street Tackle Shop and was a fishing guide. In 1959 I joined the Navy and was on active duty for eleven years. I was assigned to VS-29 on the USS Kearsarge and had four cruises to Viet Nam. I left the Navy in 1970 and worked as an electronics technician at Ranger Tool Company in Memphis. In 1972 I joined the TN Air National Guard and became a full time technician. In 1994 I retired from the 164 Tactical Airlift Group as the Avionics Branch Chief.
In 1962 I married Brenda Parker of Memphis and by magic had three Children before we knew it. Through the years with my military career I ended up with three degrees, a fishing rod company and a photography business. Brenda had a varied job history also. Brenda worked for NASA at Ames Research at Moffett Field, Calif., the Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego and Rohr Aircraft in Chula Vista.
Brenda and I thought retirement was supposed to be easy but with three Children and two Grandchildren our scheduling calendar is always full. I am involved heavily in Photography and Photoshop. My Photoshop specialty is saving old damaged photographs. I include a picture of Brenda and the three Kids: Kim the oldest, Kelley and Bill III. The picture of Brenda and myself was taken on my 50th surprise birthday party. The other picture was me receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal.
